‘Become who you are’ is a unique week-long training for everyone wanting to work on their personal development, themes and issues. It is difficult to describe the way of working in a few words. Reflection, confrontation, sharing with others, experiencing, coaching, breathing work and bodywork are just some of the essential elements in our approach. And although we lead this week, the core foundation will remain being self-supporting.
Being authentic
In what we are or what we believe we are, people are inextricably linked with experiences, perceptions, feelings, the living environment, habits, opinions, personal and family history, expectations, disillusionments, dreams and good intentions. Within this whole, there is a personal core that helps determine how we become an authentic and empathetic, independent and compassionate individual – in other words, YOU. This personal core is also an essential part of your existence.
The personal core can become less active as a result of life events and/or influences of the environment, in which case little authenticity will be evident. You are then just a small part of who you really are. You feel like that and behave like that, and then that’s how you will be seen and experienced. But this is an acquired version of you, it’s not your authentic you. A meeting or renewed acquaintance with yourself can form the stepping stone to ‘becoming who you are’ again, or perhaps even for the first time.
Who will benefit?
During this week, the focus will lie on ‘being an human being’. So that your actions are based even more on your authentic self. The following questions are the ones that typically concern our participants:
- Who am I? What do I want? Where do I stand?
- I want to be able to trust my gut feeling, either for the first time, or once again. Do I dare to?
- How do I stand in relation to others? How do I make a connection with others?
- I want to experience my power. But what is that power exactly?
- I want to change jobs. What is an appropriate career move?
- I approach everything rationally. How can I involve my feelings more?
The structure
This unique concept – designed to work on your personal development, themes and issues – has been co-designed, structured and detailed in close cooperation with the participants on a foundation based on being self-supporting. Self-supporting in terms of how the program develops, the daily structure and the preparing of the meals. A fundamental characteristic of the week is ‘relaxed profoundness’. The relaxed atmosphere is the result of the space given to playful aspects, pleasure, putting things into perspective, being together and laughing. Profoundness as a result of dealing with issues, confrontation, fulfilment, the personal, grief, anger and searching for answers. Much attention is also devoted to movement, in the form of various bodyways such as powerful body work and breathing work.
The participants will prepare vegetarian meals throughout the week and the sessions will take place both inside and outside, with no alcoholic drinks served. If you wish to spend a short time alone during the week, or a longer period, or want to spend time in nature, of course you are free to do so.
